May 7, 2008, The E.C.H.O. Foundation benefitting Tomball Regional Hospital is proud to announce Tomball Regional Hospital’s night out at Minute Maid Park. Come enjoy the Houston Astros take on the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 6:05PM. Their bats are hot, so it should be a great game.

Tickets are available through the E.C.H.O. Foundation for $20.00 per ticket, which includes your seat and $10.00 in AstrosBucks. These are accepted at any concession stand as well as in the Shed for merchandise. We will have a few other fun surprises in the park as well.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the new Women’s Imaging Center currently under construction. Did You Know?

  • Every three minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • The incidence of breast cancer has increased from 1 in 20 in 1960 to 1 in 8 today.
  • 10 million cases of osteoporosis occur annually in the U.S. Another 24 million people have low bone density and are at risk for this disease, which can cause spine, hip and writs, fractures with activities as simple as bending or coughing.

The newest, most advanced ultrasound units are so clear that they can produce a video allowing expectant parent to watch their unborn child scratching its nose or sucking its thumb. They can actually help persuade parents to take better care of their child before birth. For example, one young mother said seeing her daughter in the womb in such detail encouraged her to quit smoking.

The entire center will be housed on the newly renovated second floor of the Diagnostic Building, dedicated to and for the comfort of our female patients. Women will be treated to spa-like accommodations including soothing music, gently curved and relaxing reception area with water feature and private dressing areas. New, state-of-the-art equipment will include digital mammography with computer-aided detection and on-board biopsy module, bone density unit, 3D/4D ultrasound machines and breast-specific gamma imaging centers. All of this is expensive, yet very important to our patient population.

The E.C.H.O. Foundation gives at least 90% of the net proceeds received in contributions to TRMC. Since TRMC receives no funding through tax support, private donations help to offset expenses and the rising cost of technology and equipment. The E.C.H.O. Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization and receives donations and contributions to support the Medical Center.

LeAnn Rimes helps The E.C.H.O. Foundation raise Funds for the New Women’s Imaging Center

RimesOn February 9, 2008 the E.C.H.O. Foundation held it’s 5th Annual Gala, “Under the Moonlight”. This year’s crowd of 1000 people were entertained by two-time Grammy Award winner, LeAnn Rimes. She put on a spectacular ninety-minute show. Houston’s own Channel 11 newscaster’s Leticia Juarez and Darby Douglas were on hand to emcee this magnificent event.

The evening included both a live and silent auction, which contributed to the funds being raised for Tomball Regional Medical Center’s New Women’ Imaging Center. The live auction highlights included a six-day, five-night stay at Casa Patricia, a villa in Puerto Vallarta, which was donated by Roy & Tricia Moffitt. An autographed guitar by LeAnn Rimes, as well as four tickets and back stage passes to a concert featuring Kenny Chesney and Leann later this year in Houston. If you needed a little bling, then there were a couple of items just for you. An MK Design 1.86 carat diamond and white gold necklace with matching earrings donated by Thomas Markle Jewelers and a Diamond Ice Flowers 1.5 carat necklace with 18K white gold all around, donated by Bailey Banks and Biddle.

Dr. Kahn & FamilyIf you were a puppy lover you had come to the right place, with an AKC rare, blue longhaired Chihuahua donated by Larry & Cathy Zimmerman and an AKC Chocolate Lab puppy donated by Dyanna McCoy. Hannah Montana rodeo tickets were a hot seller as well as the Ultimate Sports package which included: four tickets to the Houston Texans, four dug-out level Astros tickets, two club level tickets for the Rockets and three Houston Dynamos tickets. However if you weren’t the lucky winner for the sports tickets you could have purchased a 40’ Sony LCD TV to watch the games on, compliments of Custom Home Cablers.

GalaMarriott Vacations donated two Hawaiian vacation trips and also donated a Taste of Tuscany gourmet meal where you are chef for a day with Woodlands Waterway’s Chef Robert Price, creating a fabulous meal for you and your friends. For those parents that just want to let their kids be kids, IT’Z Family and Fun donated a package for 100 guests.

Of course the event would not have been complete without two-time Grammy Award winner LeAnn Rimes taking the stage. The 90-minute performance was spectacular, with her singing songs we all know and love and from her newest album, Family, that was released in October of 2007. It was like listening to an angel sing. She is currently nominated for three CMT Music awards, which will air Monday, April 14, 2008.
